DAN PRICE FOR CHESHIRE PCC

Protecting All Communities Making Cheshire Safer

CHESHIRE IS PAYING THE PRICE FOR THE TORIES' RECORD OF FAILURE

Since 2012 according to Home Office crime data

A Safer Cheshire

I have lived in Cheshire all my life.

I know the area and its people. I see the challenges we face daily and know what we need to feel safe

For more ten years, I’ve been a councillor, always working for our community.

It’s evident that the current Conservative Commissioner hasn’t done enough, especially for community policing.

Too often, when crime happens, nothing is done, leaving victims without justice.

I want to change that and deliver Labour’s plan to make our streets safe again.

I believe I can be the Police and Crime Commissioner Cheshire needs, one who ensures the police and the community work together effectively.

My goal is for every person in Cheshire to feel safe, valued, and confident that when a crime is committed, justice will be served.

The Tories have failed to keep our communities safe

Every donation to my campaign will help our fight for change in Cheshire

The tory record

CUTS BITING
By 2018 the government had cut 20,000 police officers and are now trying to back fill those officers.
REOFFENDING UP
The average number of previous offences per offender has increased from 13 in 2010 to 19 in 2021.
CHARGES DOWN
Over the last 13 years the percentage of crimes recorded that lead to someone being charged has dropped from 16.3% to 5.5%.
FAILING WOMEN AND GIRLS
Reported sexual offences and rape of women and girls are now at a record high – yet the charge rates are 1.6% and 3.2% respectively.
TRUST DOWN
Public confidence in the police has been on a downward trend since 2017 falling from 62% to 55% in 2020. More recent data suggests that confidence has fallen further to just 47% in March 2023.

Labour's PLan

MORE POLICE, FASTER RESPONSE
Home Office data shows offending is up 59%. Conservative cuts mean we need more police officers than ever before and we’re still below 2010 levels of officers per head of population. I’ll change that.
PREVENTION FOCUSSED
I’ll commission more early intervention services in schools and youth organisations across the county, preventing young and vulnerable people becoming tomorrow’s criminals.
COMMUNITY-LED POLICING PLANS
Cheshire is huge and our communities are diverse. I’ll establish neighbourhood police and crime reviews, giving each community the chance to define its policing priorities.
LEARN FROM VICTIMS
Over 13 years charge rates are down to 5.5%. I’ll establish a Cheshire victims’ board so we can reverse this by learning from victims, supporting them and increasing confidence in the criminal justice system.
REFORMING AND MODERNISING
Crime has changed and too often criminals are one step ahead. By pioneering new technology, learning from best practice elsewhere and greater collaboration with other forces, we can take back our streets.
